On behalf of the South Australian Organising Committee of the 2013 Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australian & New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine, we invite you to participate in this conference that will be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre from 16-19 June 2013.

The multi award-winning Adelaide Convention Centre enjoys a global reputation for excellence and is consistently ranked among the world's top convention centres. The stunning building is a local city landmark, situated on the banks of the River Torrens, with dramatic views of parklands, the famous Adelaide Oval and the spires of the St Peter's Cathedral.

It is anticipated that the conference will attract approximately 400 delegates (especially geriatricians, advanced trainees in geriatric medicine and other medical practitioners interested in the care of older people) with nurses and allied health professionals also invited to attend.

The conference will address the breadth and depth of geriatric medicine, featuring plenary talks by international and national speakers, a closing panel session on ethical dilemmas in the care of patients in nursing homes, breakfast sessions, and free communication oral and poster papers.

The topics of the breakfast sessions will include:

  • sleep,
  • anticoagulation,
  • interventional cardiology,
  • pharmacology,
  • hip fractures.
We look forward to welcoming you to Adelaide in 2013.
