| Welcome to the Gold Coast, Queensland, for HAA 2007. The organising committee is delighted to invite you to the combined Annual Scientific Meeting of the Haematology Society of Australia and New Zealand, the Australian and New Zealand Society of Blood Transfusion, and the Australasian Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, to be held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 14 - 17 October 2007. You are invited to participate in relevant and cutting-edge Education, Meet-the-Expert and Plenary sessions as well as hear the latest developments in research from around Australia and New Zealand. An outstanding International Faculty has been assembled to present timely reviews in both benign and malignant haematology.
In addition to the scientific program, visitors will be able to enjoy the natural beauty of the Gold Coast and its surrounds. The new award-winning Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre is a stone's throw from some of the world's most beautiful surf beaches and in the centre of one of the Coast's premier entertainment districts at Broadbeach. While you are here, why not visit one of the regions many attractions: start the day with a swim in the surf or a walk on the beach; take in one of the world class theme parks such as Movie World, Dream World, the Currumbin Wild Life Sanctuary; explore one of the hinterland's national parks, and end the day on-site at the Casino. Or you could spend time enjoying the beach lifestyle that the Gold Coast is famous for.
And don't miss our conference dinner on the Tuesday night at Sea World …see the polar bears or bring the kids and enjoy the rides. It will be a family-flavoured (not literally!) dinner with a difference this year.
On behalf of the organising committee, again welcome to the Gold Coast. We trust that the 2007 HAA will be a stimulating meeting and provide enjoyable interaction with your peers.
