An Invitation to Perth, Western Australia, for HAA 2008

The organising committee is delighted to invite you to the combined Annual Scientific Meeting of the Haematology Society of Australia and New Zealand, the Australian and New Zealand Society of Blood Transfusion, the Australasian Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis and the Bone Marrow Transplant Scientists' Association of Australia, to be held at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre from the 19 - 22 October, 2008.

The conference will include up to date and state of the art presentations in the form of educational symposia, plenary sessions and masterclasses by international and local speakers who are leaders in their field. All areas in the broad discipline of haematology will be covered and there will certainly be something for everyone in the scientific programme we have put together.

While you are here, we hope you will take time to enjoy some of the pleasures Perth has to offer. The Convention Centre is situated only five minutes from the shopping precinct and restaurants of the city centre. A walk along the beautiful Swan River provides a great way to start the day or wind down in the evening. Kings Park and Botanic Garden, with its natural beauty and spectacular views, is only a short distance away. If you have a few hours to spare, why not take a trip to Cottesloe Beach or the historic city of Fremantle with its café strip and harbourside attractions. If you have more time, a visit to the renowned Margaret River wine region would be very rewarding.

Don't forget to leave Tuesday night free for the "Black and White" themed conference dinner on the Crawley Bay foreshore.
