| An invitation to the 11th IWGS in 2008
As the Local Organising Committee, we invite you to join your colleagues at the
11th International Wheat Genetics Symposium
This will be held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre from 24 - 29 August 2008. The main themes of the conference will be:
- Exploiting wheat genetic resources
- Chromosome biotechnology
- Genome dynamics
- Coping with wheat in a changing environment - biotic stresses
- Coping with wheat in a changing environment - abiotic stresses
- Coping with wheat in a changing environment - quality issues
- Coping with wheat in a changing environment - varying development
- Breeding for a changing world
- Integration from molecules to function
Who should attend?
- Plant researchers: geneticists, breeders, molecular biologists, agronomists, physiologists, pathologists, quality chemists
- Seed and grain producers and marketers
- Research managers
The Scientific Program includes presentations from invited keynote speakers on each of the major themes, short oral presentations and poster papers, an optional post-conference field tour, and optional workshops on Sunday 24 August and throughout the conference.
A free half day has been programmed on the Wednesday to allow delegates to participate in optional tours to see areas of interest in and around the city. South East Queensland's attractions include luscious rainforests, long white sandy beaches, wildlife and theme parks, fine wining and dining, and scenic country retreats.
