Field Tours

The Pre-Symposium Field Tour has been cancelled.

A two day tour beginning and ending in Brisbane will follow on from the Symposium. The tour will visit wheat research facilities at Gatton Research centre and the Queensland Department of Primary Industries (QDPI) Leslie Research Centre in Toowoomba where the focus will be on breeding wheat for disease resistance, grain quality and adaptation to Queensland and northern NSW. We will also visit the QDPI Hermitage research centre at Warrick with a focus on barley and chickpea research. It will encompass a tour through the wheat production areas in the Darling Downs and surrounding areas. The cost of the tour is yet to be finalized, depending on numbers, but is likely to be $200-300.
