The ASM will be held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre at Southbank on the Brisbane River. The main conference hotels Rydges Southbank Brisbane and the Mantra South Bank are a few minutes walk from the Centre and the wide range of alternative accommodation with be within walking distance will suit any budget.
The Southbank precinct also offers shopping, a large cinema complex and a wide range of restaurants and cafes. The Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre is also only a few minutes from the Queensland Art Gallery & Museum, the State Library and the Queensland Performing Arts Centre.
Airports
Brisbane Domestic and International Airports are approximately 30 minutes from the CBD. From the airport you can travel to Southbank or South Brisbane stations by Airtrain (approx A$14 one way, booking online offers a 10% discount), by shuttle bus (approx $12 one way, book online) or by taxi (approx A$36 one way). All the major car hire companies have offices at the airport. |
Tours
There is plenty to do and see in and around Brisbane, from daytime adventure tours and fantastic shopping to the theme parks.
If you are bringing your family, visit one of the world-famous theme parks
Sea World, Movie World. Wet n’ Wild, Dream World and White Water World.

If you want to travel further afield, consider a one or two day trip to
world heritage-listed Fraser Island (www.fraserisland.net) , the largest sand
island in the world, the Sunshine Coast and its hinterland, or Toowoomba
and the Darling Downs. Or travel north to the Whitsunday Islands or
