Abstracts

Information for Presenters

Abstract acceptance has been sent out by email which contained instructions on how to log in to confirm details of the session in which you are presenting. If you have not received an email, please contact the ASM Secretariat.

Special Instructions for Oral Presenters

As a contributed oral presenter you will be entitled to a total of 15 minutes for your presentation. This will consist of 10 minutes presentation time and five (5) minutes to allow for an introduction by the chairperson, questions and change of speaker. As there are several concurrent sessions, please ensure that you keep to your allocated speaking time. Refer to the final program that you receive at registration to confirm the venue and the order in which your presentation is listed.

A complete program showing details of all concurrent sessions and poster papers will be posted on the website by the middle of February.

If for any reason, you are unable to present your paper at the Meeting, please advise us as soon as possible so that the published program can be amended accordingly.

We remind you that the presenting author must pay registration fees to attend the conference.

Audio-visual equipment requirements

  • The audio visual facilities available during the ASM at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre will enable presentations to be pre-loaded to the networked computer system.
  • All presenters must report to the Speaker Support Centre in Meeting Room 12 on arrival to confirm their requirement with the technicians.
  • The default computer configuration for the ASM is Windows XP and Office XP. We will supply a Windows PC in all rooms for presentations.
  • If you wish to use Macintosh, video, slides, overheads or any other presentation media, please contact the Secretariat.
  • Multiple forms of storage media are supported. These include CD-R/RW, Memory Stick, Zip disc (100 or 250 Mb), Smartmedia card and SD Multimedia card. Please bring your presentation on one of these media. Remember to ensure that any linked images are also saved onto the same storage accessory.
  • Do not include any live internet links in your presentation as email access will not be available in the meeting rooms.
  • The use of personal laptops will not be allowed as they often cause logistical problems at a crucial moment.

Posters must be attached to the poster boards using Velcro (the hooked side only). Please ensure that you bring a sufficient quantity of Velcro with you to the Meeting.

No responsibility is taken for posters left on the boards at the end of the conference. Any poster selected for the Best Poster Prize must be left displayed until the close of the conference on Wednesday morning so that it can be judged.

Please read carefully the poster presenter guidelines [PDF] as the new format for the poster sessions trialled in 2010 will again be used at the Perth ASM.

A complete program showing details of all concurrent sessions and poster papers will be posted on the website by the middle of February.

If for any reason, you are unable to present your paper at the Meeting, please advise us as soon as possible and no later than 8 February 2011 so that the published program can be amended accordingly.

The presenting author must pay registration fees to attend the conference.
